Immigration

We must have clear and reasonable immigration rules that are publicly debated, passed by Congress, followed by all immigrants, and enforced fairly. As your 22nd District Congressman, my priorities will be to pass legislation that clears up the uncertainties in the current law, honors those who have followed the rules, keeps families together, and treats all immigrants with respect and human dignity.

As a small business owner myself, I know that both employers and immigrants share responsibility for making the process work. Many of the hard-working naturalized Americans I have known over the years have overcome great physical and emotional barriers to settle in this country. Their contributions have enriched the United States for over two hundred years, and should be encouraged.
